i-Prompter getting started guide

How get scripts into the iPrompt application

You will normally need an email account such as Google Mail or Hotmail on your iPhone or iPod Touch, although if the iPod Touch was supplied with your i-Prompter then it will already have loaded an email account at i-prompter.com. This account will be made up with the last six digits of the iPod Touch's serial number which will be printed on the label on the product case. This will be something like tf54yj@i-prompter.com for example.

Make sure it is set-up to connect to Wi-Fi (see tutorial on the i-Prompter website), you then just email your script to your i-prompter email account. Using the 'copy & paste' feature within the Apple V3.0 software you can transfer your script from the inbox email to the i-Prompt application. You do this my taping twice at the top of the script in your email and drag to the bottom to highlight the text you need and then tap 'Copy' then open the i-Prompt application, tap the + sign (top right on the main documents page) give the script a name, tap in the Document Text box and tap 'Paste', then 'Save' that will load your script into the Documents list.

There is a link to a comprehensive tutorial by Apple on 'cut & paste' on the i-prompter website.

Within 'Settings' in the i-Prompt application you can set Font Type, Font Size, Font Colour, B/G Colour, Portrait, landscape, mirror on/off, loop text and scroll speed etc.

Tap in the documents list the selected script and it will load and run if auto start is set to 'on'. Or once the script is loaded, tap the screen to run if auto start is not set. While the script is running, tap once to stop, tap again to start and tap three times to exit back to the documents main page to adjust settings or load another script.

It is quite a simple application to set up once you have a bit of practice, and remember if you need extra time between paragraphs just edit some extra line feeds and carriage returns within the text file.

Happy Prompting!
